Currently Im typing this in a honey blonde Nichole wig, clothing stripped down to the bare minimum under a Kente robe, listening to M3cca Fruit, sipping cold water with the patio doors wide open to the full Beaver Moon. Taking a short break from working on Houston Kwanzaa :: Kwanzaa Boogie and wanted to share my copper pennies on one of this past week's mass rituals: The American Baseball World Series.
Earlier today (Friday, 3/11) I was listening to a web chat on this current "Harvest" season and the Laws currently governing when my mind wandered to the Astros winning the World Series. Was this a Harvest ritual? Shit yes. If only because the thing has happened every year since 1903- #issaritual. Change the location and teams as needed.
I officially knew it was a ritual when the game fell on Halloween. Actually my ears peaked when I first heard news of Houston in the finals. I think it was Sunday when the news reached me. I was late to the party because I don't follow baseball... The Astros in the World Series Finals caught my attention because thats a Coliseum amplification.. Hence how my out-of-the-loop #earthychick caught the wave. Y'all, since the end of August this citys been in a watery, swampy-like slump. I mean, the city (and many surrounding towns) just experienced one of the nations worst 'natural' disasters in recordable history. So many people were set all the way back in their finances, and many are still frozen in their emotions.**
The World Series was not what I expected to hear was happening to our city. Sometimes I forget we all experience this life in our own realities. Thats a law. So while others are enjoying the moment and celebrating the Astros victory, raising the vibrations around themselves and influencing others with their subtle etheric bodies, I was over here like, "I see." So when the 6th game fell on Halloween I knew energy was being harvested.. ((Hey Vampires, I just swallowed a fresh clove of garlic. Ijs.)) Then when they won the world series on Dia de los Muertos I knew I would be writing a short blog on the topic because its easy to get caught in the feelings of #winning and victory. The world series is modern-day gladiator games. Only difference is the ruling class hides the sacrifices... because if you recall, the loser lost his life. (Or the winner loses his life ala Mayan Harvest Rituals.) Energy, or emotion is masterfully manipulated via ritual. Which in turn directs the minds and bodies of those participating in the ritual. So, Houston needed a powerful ritual to clear out The Kraken Aftermath.*** And so many are/were willing participants thankful for the opportunity to feel, even if vicariously, like a champion.
Mythos tells us that during the transition between Autumn and Fall, that brief time period when the last of Summer is retreating and the promise of Winter begins to show in the midnight cool breeze... that time is when the portal between the living world and the Spirit world is opened. The full moon is the opportune time to charge those desires that were initiated during the new moon. If you are in Houston, or anywhere that is celebrating The World Series, then also soak up that Fire element too. Let it rekindle your root and solar plexus chakras.
"The Harvest is ripe!"
* My Hotep ass, lol. At first I was like, "Oh. The two leading cities with the most Black & Brown incarcerated bodies- LA and HTX." My activist.
**At some point we need to talk about how the storm polarized the city. The way it exposed the environmental racisms. How is it that some neighborhoods saw 5-6 feet of water in their homes and streets while others saw none? Should there be lands reserved for retention and be deemed inhabitable?
