Buffalo & Bayou Apothecary, Culture. Now that we know we are largely void of our own independent Culture... lets discuss rituals. It is our understanding, at Buffalo & Bayou, that the conversations about 'Community' are idealist at best in absence of the foundations necessary for unity. Rites are the cornerstone of culture, as the root of Culture is 'Cult'. Of course we were taught cults are to be reported to the Police and to be thought of as dangerous; the images in our mind's eye are the suicide cults reported on Nightline News and 60 Minutes. However, all religions began as cults. And all governments spawned from fanatics. As I flesh this out, I can see how crafting of rituals and identifying individuals to do the work of modeling the principles and ideologies of the 'new culture' is an endeavor for the initiated few. The critical mass of individuals committed to the single vision of maintaining momentum in the goals and disciplined enough to 'stay in character'. To create a culture is not a notion- it is a way of life. As disciples, if you will, place their lives on display and are accepted as trustworthy- as a thriving and viable option, only then will the culture evolve outside of the few, original architects. United by ritual(s) and investment(s) in a shared vision, they can then begin trading and bartering amongst themselves. This is the marker of a community.

Buffalo & Bayou Apothecary: "We are in a high ritual season. Earlier this week, we harnessed the Full Moon and charged our tools. Now, as we begin the most important ritual of the Christian year, there are many 'putting on their aprons' and 'bringing out their cups' to receive the promised blessings of this mass ritual. The symbol that flashed me awake this mourning was, "Perspective". Be mindful of y/our perspectives. What role are you playing? How did you audition or volunteer for this role? In the temple, rituals are acted out. Is your character in the power position, or are you the sacrifice? There must be a sacrifice. The predominate theme of the Easter Rite is sacrifice. And resurrection. Have we been resurrected? Remember i mentioned 'perspective.' And for those following the path Im walking in this FB Post- Can you see the psychological workings of detaching one's psyche from their body via pain and trauma? #SinkIn
At Buffalo&Bayou Apothos, we first strive to predict when we will be attacked. We do not trick ourselves and override our root chakras into believing there are no forces seeking to feed off our 'light'. We know there are battles waging in Heaven. We are proactive. We will protect ourselves and our dependents. Our brief advice is to 1. Drink More Water. 2. Reduce Heavy Food Intake and Eat Fresh, Living Foods. Minimize Meat and Processed Products. 3. Spend As Much Time As Manageable In Your Own Rituals. If you are uncomfortable with 'ritual' then quiet your mind in meditation. I want to say prayer, however what/who you are praying to may or may not benefit you, so be cautious with the entities you invoke.
