How fitting? Tuesday tales of endings and new beginnings. She asked and the cards answered.
Death immediately shifted the energy of our reading. In the way that only Death can. We had to pause and sit with the Sunset, mourn that which deteriorated. Or that which must be sacrificed. I wasnt completely sure because she only said, "Yes. Death. I understand. It makes perfect sense. Please continue."
Then fire. The Arrows card called for her to attune her relationship with the Element of Fire. She needed to carry a Carnelion crystal. Typically associated with the Solar Plexus and assisting with the circulatory system.
The third position in her 3-card spread was The Grandfathers. Otherwise known as The Star card and in this last position yeilding love and responsibility. The Star is Venus, affectionally called The Morning Star in The Bible because it is typically the first star to rise over the morning horizon. And The Grandfathers are "The Elders." They are sought for fair council and organized leadership. They are the Priest-hood.
Tuesdays and a quintessential Tuesday reading: death, sacrifice, war, courage, strategy and victory.
Endings & Beginnings.
Sunday, Jan 13. 2:30pm.
Time will tell.
Last night one of my sisters was online sharing a Women's Wisdom Live class. Sis is typically on point and insync with Divine Feminine. She's also an award-winning martial artist so her Dark Wisdom is also Master level.
She began by discussing a characteristic of the archetypical feminine in her martial discipline: Yin. How women are most powerful when acting in this principle. Also, how our masculine compliments are characteristically acting as the Yang. She elaboarated on what it means when both genders stay in their lanes. And what I received from her wisdom that pertains to this post is how Yin flows with Time. Time is not our enemy, despite what we are told. Yes, biologically we must respect the Laws of Earth. However, for the Witch, our initiations teach us how to flowwwww. We live in tandem with time; Saturn.
That said, she gave words to an intuitive understanding. He.. the composite 'He' in my above musing, has grown tired of our courting. Lol. And so his true colors are showing. I shared with him early on that I saw him and I was aware of his shadows. We all have them. I didnt place a value on either one the faces- the one he showed me, his mask or the one he thought he could hide, his truth- I simply acted in my Yin. Trusted myself and my discernments. And we proceeded with our dance. Or game. Both analogies fit. And we had fun. And now, here we are.
The slick comments. The sneak disses. The disrespects. I called it early. Saw it in him. Been there, Done that. And so I proceeded accordingly. Whats Gucci?
Im not implying I have all the answers. I dont. I do have some answers, some wisdom. Enough to combine with my experiences to help me know when someone or something is off. So while I enjoy a good time as much as the next person, I enjoy my peace of mind more. And Im a romantic so I require a slayed dragon from my Prince Charming... Which is a whole 'notha series of posts worth of breaking down what that means in 2019. So for this post, slaying a dragon means 'He' must slay those tendencies to put me under his foot... If you dont follow, God Bless You. If you know, then you know. That dragon is a formitable beast. And the reward is my trust. Lay the dragon's head at my foot.
Or leave my Witchy Ass Be. Cause Im on my own quest to master the feminine Yin.
Last night was a pleasure
Jo Burkholder, Ph.D is an interesting storyteller. Its late and Im tired. Will update tomorrow.
(Update) K, so during the Q/A session, Dr. Burkholder told a story about visiting a Shaman woman during her travels in Peru and being given a prayer and fertility fetish to bury in her front yard. She said it worked. Which led me to believe that she was not only open to Spiritualism but also practiced it. That and her hand-crafted copper bangles gave it away. She's an anthropologist and studies Pachamama, who happens to be an ancient Goddess.... Im here for it.
During her lecture she shared a picture of a painting called, La Virgen del Cerro. This picture and the story of it is worthy of another post. (Which I will write in the coming weeks.) I was instantly drawn to it. So much so, I sought her out after the lecture to learn more. And it was in that conversation that the power of Oral traditions again proved itself. Books give invaluable information and are a must for intelligent folks. However some things will never be written down. Or they are written and codified and need that one little sound resonance to open the cipher to understand what is written. Some of what she shared in our brief encounter I'm still thinking about and doing my own research. I've felt the pull of Peru for years and now I understand why.
Dr Burkholder is a real-life Laura Croft. And Im thankful I invested in the lecture. The Museum of Natural Science has much to offer and Im open to receiving.
Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." One of the primary reasons we hold to Hoodoo is because Hoodoo holds to the traditions of our heritage. There is value in the ways of our Ancestors. While there is much we do not accept as our truths regarding religion, there is much we cannot deny. And if it works, we work with it.
The Bible. Best understood by occultists, the initiated priesthood and wise women. Proverbs. I've heard many preachers teach on this verse and the censuses thus far is 'fear' is not what the Hebrews originally wanted to communicate in this verse. The word 'fear' in the context most familiar to modern Americans is not the proper context for "Yirat/Yirah." The online resource, ancient-hebrew.org lends us this explanation, "The literal concrete meaning of yara is a "flowing of the gut," which can be applied to "fear" or "reverence." Have you ever been so scared or been in the presence of something so amazing that you could feel it in your gut? This "feeling" is the meaning of this word." This article goes on to further elaborate on the feminine noun "Yirah" and using ancient Hebrews ascribes "fear" to mean "teachings and character of God. Goddess (Divine Feminine.) http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/m/tlw_fear.html
When you began to see Magic in the mundane, the world becomes Wondrous. You will quickly realize that miracles are all around, and sometimes we have control over them; we can conjure our own wonderment. This is the power of the mantra, "Remembering Our Magick." Once had Knowledge of how to live in sync with our environments which allowed us to tap into the flow.
We Are Remembering. And it is wondrous.
