a few months back, Sis. *Annelle asked us not to use the term "aboriginal" as a descriptor for first nations. because if youre original then youre original. she said, in essence, the attribute 'aboriginal' is a spell. and I'm beginning to see that quite possibly it is. wouldnt 'original' be sufficient? however the english language says ab-original means 'super original.' lol. of course there's no 'super original' cause that doesnt make sense, does it? if youre original to the land, youre the first peoples of said land.. you and yours legally hold the land rites..
unless theft or forfeit occurs.

so i did the knowledge and y'all, its true: ab- as a prefix means "away". Refer to any dictionary... It removes, or voids the word 'original' and spells it in a way that diminishes the power...'Aboriginal'- #issa name and an adjective, a descriptive word.. just as the term 'Black' carries specific legal and social implications, so does "Aboriginal." We see how diabolical the Aussie government and private contractors were in their dealings with the Original peoples of Australasia... treated them like captives brought to a foreign land... stole their birthrights. And now has the whole world calling them ab-original, binding them to kidnappers; their 'fathers.' Literally and linguistically, as in Abba.

"The category "Aboriginal Australia" was coined by the British after they began colonising Australia in 1788, to refer collectively to all people they found already inhabiting the continent, and later to the descendants of any of those people. Until the 1980s, the sole legal and administrative criterion for inclusion in this category was race, classified according to visible physical characteristics or known ancestors." -

if you look up the modifier 'Aboriginal' in a dictionary, it tales a falsehood. has to be. how else to explain it? ab is a prefix, as in ab-solve. Middle English absolven, borrowed from Latin absolvere "to release, acquit, finish, complete," from ab- + solvere "to loosen, release".  Merriam-Webster.  so  even the etymology, dating back to europeans first usage affirms "ab-" releases or brings to completion the state of being original. of course most of us take damn near everything at face value and wont question the dictionary, as if it isn't made by humans... the legend goes that Malcolm Little (el hajj Malik el Shabazz) while incarcerated read the dictionary cover-to-cover and doing so expanded and transformed his understanding of the injected curses in the english language. See: Dr. Su'Zar.

knowing words, understanding their meanings and unlocking their hidden intentions is necessary for magik. how can i caste spells if i don't have a command for words? words are a key ingredient of spells... unless its non-verbal.

indigenous is more accurate. i like autochthonous.

Still chewing on this one....

“Aborigines,” the older English noun, comes directly from the Latin aborigines, a plural noun for the pre-Roman inhabitants of Italy, according to the Oxford English Dictionary. In Latin, ab origine means from the beginning.
When the word entered English in the early 1500s, it was only plural and referred only to the original inhabitants of Latium, the Italian region that includes Rome.
But by the early 1600s, according to the OED, the term was being used more loosely to refer to “the earliest known inhabitants of a particular country.” -- Grammarphobia.com

So "ab origine" is Latin... which doesn't make it any better, lol. Latin was the language of Early Rome. Please believe Rome was deep into spell magic** and all other forms. With their connections to the Etruscans and Phoenicians, please believe those Priestesses and Priests were fully invested in using magic to establish and maintain their orders.. as Romans were original nowhere, they had probable cause to institute 'tricknology.' Spells interwoven inside the language.

So going with Ab- means from, here we are. Where 2 become 1: (MerriamWebster.com)

  1. used as a function word to indicate the source, cause, agent, or basis
  2. used as a function word to indicate physical separation or an act or condition of removal, abstention, exclusion, release, subtraction, or differentiation

So while the exoteric meaning addresses #1, the esoteric meaning addresses #2. Just as "Black" means one thing to Black folks and something completely different to the U.S. Legal system.

Then again, I could be completely wrong. Reaching and waxing poetic like a fake-ass English Professor.

Thanks for reading. Leave a comment.
